Canada Language Study (CLS) is located in the Shuswap  area of south central British Columbia, Canada. There are four small towns within a 30-minute drive of CLS - Armstrong  Enderby, Salmon Arm  and Sicamous . They provide lots of choice for activities , talking to Canadians, and experiencing Canadian culture. CLS is located near the small community of Grindrod.

The main highway (97A) between the provinces of British Columbia and Alberta goes through Grindrod in the Shuswap River valley. A map gives a good view of the area. CLS is just three kilometers north of the highway at Grindrod.  People are friendly and relaxed in small communities. The pace is slower than in the city. There are many opportunities for conversations with local residents almost all native English speakers.

Parks

There are many British Columbia government provincial parks  within a thirty minute to one-hour drive of CLS. They provide wonderful opportunities to experience the beauty of nature plus picnicking, swimming, and hiking. The closest park to CLS is Mara Provincial Park  north of  Enderby and Grindrod.

Roderick Haig Brown Provincial Park  is world famous for the salmon (fish) run in the fall (October) plus beautiful nature walks and riverside trails.  Fintry Provincial Park is on Okanagan Lake, south of CLS and  Herald Park is on Shuswap Lake north of CLS
